QATAR: MOROCCO TO FACE BELGIUM, OTHERS

Morocco are one of the five African teams going to the World Cup 2022 tournament in Qatar. The North Africans would be representing the continent at the World Cup 2022 tournament alongside fellow West African team Tunisia, African champions Senegal, Cameroon and Ghana. Morocco qualified for the World Cup tournament in Qatar after seeing off DR Congo in the African playoffs via a 5-2 aggregate victory. The Moroccans made it to Qatar by securing a 1-1 draw against 10-man DR Congo away from home in the first leg before they thrashed the same opponents 4-1 in the second leg to win their playoff tie convincingly.

Peru are still in contention for this year’s FIFA World Cuptournamentafter making the inter-confederation playoffs ahead of countries such as Colombia, Chile and Paraguay in the South American section of the qualifiers.

The South Americans have four automatic slots for World Cup tournaments and the World Cup 2022 tournament in Qatar is not an exception. Brazil, Argentina, Ecuador and Uruguay took the four automatic spots for the World Cup 2022 tournament, while Peru could only take the inter-confederation slot in the region. URUGUAY SECURE QATAR 2022 W/CUP SPOT

Two-time champions Uruguay are through to the World Cup 2022 tournament in Qatar after beating Peru in a crucial game as far as the South American qualifying section is concerned. The Uruguayans came into the home game with Peru knowing that a win will take them to Qatar with one game to spare and they were able to achieve the outcome needed from the match.


It had earlier looked like Uruguay won’t be at the World Cup 2022 tournament on Qatari soil after the suffered a disappointing 3-0 defeat at the hands of hosts Bolivia in November. However, they were able to get their World Cup 2022 qualifying campaign back on track with two successive wins over hosts Paraguay and Venezuela at home ahead of the showdown with Peru on Thursday. Ahead of the game, one point and one place separated Uruguay and Peru. The Uruguayans were in fourth spot and the final automatic spot for the World Cup 2022 tournament from the South American region, while Peru were in fifth spot and the inter-confederation playoff spot. WHO WILL WIN THE FIFA 2022 WORLD CUP?

It’s 2022 and Football fans across the world are well aware of the fact that it’s a World Cup year, much to the excitement of millions of people worldwide. There’s quite a lot of reasons to look forward to this year’s World Cup tournament and one of them is because of the continued emergence of new and exciting players. This year’s edition of the prestigious tournament is expected to, like others, showcase a lot of interesting talents and also provide center stage for a lot of players to showcase their craft.

There are a lot of countries who are currently favorites to clinch the prize this year and even though only one team will win it, the guess is still very much wild. England and Italy booked their spots in the UEFA Euros tournament final last year and even though the Italians came out on top, the English team put in a great fight and resilience. The two countries have the chance to cause an upset in Qatar later this year but they will face a lot of competition as well.

EUROPE: 12 PLAYOFF TEAMS REVEALED

The European continent will be responsible for 13 teams at the World Cup 2022 tournament in Qatar and ten teams have been confirmed for the tournament thus leaving the remaining three places for 12 teams via the playoffs. These 12 teams,including current European champions Italy and immediate past European champions Portugal, will have to go through the playoffs.

As revealed earlier ten teams from the European section are through to the World Cup 2022 tournament on Qatari soil and they are former champions England, Germany, Spain and France.  It is important to point out that France are the defending champions after beating Croatia 4-2 in the final to seal a second title after the 1998 title triumph on home soil. Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, Atletico Madrid attacker Antoine Griezmann and Paris Saint Germain (PSG) star KylianMbappe were all on target for the French team in that final.
