The medical team at Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid are currently working on getting the club’s defender Ferland Mendy to recover from his injury and they are also tracking his progress in a bid to get him back to full fitness as soon as possible.
Former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane decided to pick Mendy over veteran left-back Marcelo in his team’s pecking order as he hinted that he was no longer trusting the services of the Brazilian defender. Mendy put in some strong performances for Madrid last season and was also one of their best players even though they were not able to win a single trophy in what was a forgettable campaign for them.
After being under the care of the Madrid medical team, he has continued to progress well and is nearing a return date from his injury. New Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that he is counting on the defender to regain his full fitness in time so that he would have a big squad as the opening day of the new La Liga season draws nearer.
Ancelotti is said to be an admirer of the defender and according to reports, he sees the player as an integral part of his Madrid side. Fendy will also be hoping to recover on time so he can nail his starting berth at the club in order to remind Deschamps that he is in contention to feature in their World Cup campaign next year.
